Overview

We had a blast testing and reviewing The Dark Knight. It’s an amazing game that perfectly portrayed Batman’s adventures shown in Christopher Nolan’s 2nd Batman movie. It gets even better. Soon after the release of the 3rd movie The Dark Knight Rises Microgaming decided to follow the lead and release another slot game. We all saw the struggle of Batman coping with the challenges Bane put him through. They’re fighting in this game as well. They just can’t get along. This sequel is better, more rewarding, packed with improved graphics and heroic soundtrack in the background. Regardless if you like Batman or you justify the villain’s actions The Dark Knight Rises promises guaranteed satisfaction.

Data

The Dark Knight Rises slot has 5 spinning reels and 3 rows of symbols. This is a 243 ways or pays slot which makes hitting a win rather easy. Players can set the coin value in the range of 0.01 and 0.50. There are 3 predetermined coin denominations. Furthermore players can set the number of how many of these coins will be put per one of those fictive lines. If you do the math the entry bet is 30 coins and it can reach an amount of 150. In terms of credits the minimum bet is 0.30 and the maximum is 7.50. The highest win is not a 5 of a kind win, in fact you can win a 6-symbol win line. You can find more information on this feature in the Special Features below.

Features

It was a fascinating movie and superhero fans want to see yet another sequel. For the time being that seems like it won’t happen. However, nothing stops you from enjoying in Microgaming’s latest Batman release. It has tons of features, some of which are unique and can’t be found elsewhere. For starters, the Wild Symbol is represented with the famous Dark Knight logo you’ve probably seen before on some of the movie posters. The Scatter symbol shows us the hidden bomb we saw in the Dark Knight Rises. 3 or more scatters activate the Free Spin feature.

All symbols are animated and the high symbols showing the main protagonists and antagonists show brief memorable moments from the film.

Special Features

First and foremost, the bonus feature you’ll anticipate most is the Free Spins bonus feature which is triggered by hitting 3, 4 or 5 scatters anywhere on the reels. The number of Free Spins is accumulated from Batman’s fights with Bane. Bane accumulates his own Free Spins and Batman’s hits increase his own Free Spins counter. In addition to this the multiplier can increase as well. In a way the longer you play without Free Spins the higher your Free Spins spree will be. The Free Spins feature can’t be retriggered.

Before the Free Spins commence the player should choose of two different bonus features. One is called Extra Wild Blast and the other is Rolling Reels. The latter, Extra Wild Blast, allows the player to select some of the high paying symbols and turn into in a wild. This wild symbol won’t substitute for the scatter or the original wild symbol.

Choosing Bane triggers the Rolling Reels which can award you with multiple wins.

If you play the game for quite some time and you’re fortunate enough to trigger the bonus features 10 times you will unlock the upgraded or secondary bonus features. Bane’s secondary bonus feature is Super Stacked Wilds. Choosing it can turn reels two and four in Stacked Wilds further increasing your odds of hitting 5 of a kind lines. On the other hand, Batman’s secondary bonus feature which you can unlock can split the wild, making room for 6 of a kind winning lines that pay twice as much as the 5 of kind lines. This bonus feature is called Heat Seeking Wilds.

Another feature that can come up in the base game is the Expanding Wild. It can show up only on reel 3. Lastly, every hero deserves a second chance. Batman had his when Bane put him in the deep hole below the ground. You get your 2nd chance with the bonus feature called Symbol Scramble. It can occur randomly on any non-winning spin scrambling the symbols attempting to come up with the best possible symbol combination.

Conclusion

There are no doubts whatsoever that Microgaming’s The Dark Knight Rises is just as spectacular as what Christopher Nolan tried to show on the big cinema screen. It has tons of bonus features and we can’t think of any flaws. Regardless if you’re a comic book fan or you just want to enjoy in a well-tailored slot game you will have a great time playing The Dark Knight Rises.
