We took this “ancient” looking 5 reel slot out of the storage. It has a bit dust all over it, but this “old” dog still has some life left in it. Dragon’s Pearl is fighter, produced by Amatic. It looks as if it was left on the bridge between classic slots and 5 reel slots. Dragon’s Pearl can be a decent replacement for classic slot players who like to move away from 3 reels slots towards a “younger” type of slots, yet still not be overwhelmed by high end graphics and audio.
Slot Information

Data
With 50 paylines under its belt and a simple intuitive bet adjusting interface, Dragon’s Pearl can easily turn into an endless reason for experimenting. Players can change the number of active paylines in the range of 1 to 50, officially, but we couldn’t activate all 50, instead we could do so only by 41. It is a mystery, which to be honest does not need to be put much thought into it. You won’t get any kind of bonus if you activate all lines. Lastly, the jackpot top prize is 50,000 credits. You can win this amount only if you land 5 of what looks like some Chinese medieval aristocrat.
Features
The 5x4 layout may come as a big surprise to new players. Furthermore, you might be surprised by the presence of stacked wilds, represented with the dragon. These stacked Dragon wilds can bring huge and regular prizes. However, it all depends on the frequency on which they occur and let us bring it up to you, they do not come up often. The Dragon’s Pearl is obviously the Scatter or the Bonus symbol as it’s called by the producer. All it takes is 3 or more of these to trigger 5 bonus free spins. It’s not much, but it still is something. At least, it’s good that you can re-trigger the bonus free spins feature during bonus rounds.
Dragon’s Pearl is obviously influenced by Chinese elements. The dragons, the Chinese characters, tigers, and other animals that are distinctive about the Chinese culture are among the symbols list.
Special Features
During our testing we realized that the only way to win big regularly is to utilize the gamble feature. We usually discourage players to put their wins at stake, but this time around, if you want to go win big, you have to go big. Guess the color of the card or the suit of the card, to double or quadruple your prize respectively.
The chances are slim, but prizes can be considerably big. Stacked Wilds are definitely a pro that has to be pointed out. However, the bonus feature is notably undervalued. That’s 5 free spins only regardless of how many scatter symbols trigger the bonus rounds.
Conclusion
We have to be honest with you. The graphics are not remotely admirable, the bonus features are not engaging and the hit rate is not that attractive either. In other words, you should opt for a different 5 reel video slot, a modern looking one. Even if you’re a fan of mediocre 5 reel slots, you should try and move to the latest generation of video slots.
