WARNING: As of the 1st of April, 2017, Marvel themed slots produced by Playtech are no longer available. If you enjoy the bonus features, please consider playing their replicas part of the Age of the Gods line of slots, also by Playtech. Marvel based slots are no longer available due to the agreement Playtech had with Marvel. The agreement will not be renewed because of Disney’s family-friendly image.

As if there wasn’t enough already, Playtech tries to steal the show with another Batman slot, this time around we see the vigilante battling his greatest nemesis, the Joker. Batman and the Joker Jewels slot takes us back to the 60s when Adam West had the role of the protagonist, whereas Cesar Romero was arguably the most distinctive Joker. At that time DC Comics was a worthy adversary of Marvel. Today, unfortunately we see a totally different reality. Needless to say, Playtech is effortlessly releasing new slot games with some retro icing on the top.

Before we proceed with the details, we must point out that we had more success with Batman and the Joker Jewels than we had with Batman & Catwoman Cash.

Data

At first glance this slot appears as it’s highly volatile. It took us only a handful of spins before we were convinced we were very wrong. Showers of wins, both modest and generous. It’s totally the opposite of what we had experienced with Batman & Catwoman Cash. The slot has 25 fixed lines giving players a decent chance at winning. Batman fans who want to relieve some old memories can start playing the game with a minimum bet of €0.25. However, the maximum bet really takes the spotlight with mind-boggling €2,500 per spin. These jewels better be worth it.

Batman and the Joker Jewels is a progressive jackpot slot, having access to 4 different gradually increasing prizes, the Mini, the Minor, the Major and the Grand Progressive Jackpot.

Features

Both the Joker and Batman will bring you a maximum prize of 2,500 in the base game. But, there’s more to it than just a plain 5 of a kind win. Take for instance the Batman VS. The Joker Free Games. It takes 3 scatters on the reels 1, 3 and 5, one on each to trigger this potentially endless bonus feature. Before you raise your expectations too high, you should know there’s a catch.

The other feature that’s distinctive featuring the Joker is The Joker Random Wilds. His maniacal cackle really has an effect on the reels. Moreover, it’s Cesar Romero’s own iconic laughter. Prepare yourself for big wins whenever you hear the Clown Prince of Crime laughing.

Players should note that there are two Wild Symbols, one for each character. Both the Batman logo and Joker’s smile will substitute for any other symbol except the Bonus Symbol.

Special Features

The Joker Random Wilds feature spawns up to 9 randomly positioned Wild symbols on the reels. In our experience, we couldn’t land a single Wild on reels 2 and 3. Surprisingly, but Wilds positioned on these 2 reels are the most valuable and most rewarding because it’s easier to form a winning line. Nevertheless, the bonus feature is beyond that just decent and pays rather well.

Batman encounters the Joker during Free Games, it’s up to you whose side you’ll be on. At the start of the game the player is given a multiplier of 5x. As long as you keep the multiplier count away from “The End”, you’ll be enjoying Free Spins. This bonus feature promises huge profit potential, however, it all comes down to an individual level.

Conclusion

We must admit we enjoyed the retro appearance, but after a while we started missing any cool animations that will further spice up the already profitable session. If you’re in it for the jackpots, prepare to cope with some repeating, occasionally boring period when nothing happens. Those who persevere should see a light at the end of the tunnel, but we cannot guarantee, nor can the RNG.
