Keno

Keno

The origins of Keno go back to China, back in the 19th century. The Chinese used this lottery-like game to gather funds for their military. After that it was shown to the west and eventually it came to Houston, TX under the name Keno. The original name is “Pakapoo” which means “white dove ticket”, it was called this way because the remote villages in China were notified of the results of the lottery via carrier pigeons.

How It Works

The modern version of Keno offers much more possibilities. With the technology that is available today players can play more than one runs at a time, with the maximum reaching 1000.

There are 80 balls with numbers printed on them from 1 to 80. The player chooses how many numbers he is going to “hit”. This is called the “catch”. The higher the numbers hit and caught the higher will be the number to multiply your wager.

You can hit up to 20 numbers. However, the odds are fairly low as hitting 20 out of 80 numbers is very rare.

The number that multiplies your wager depends on the paytable the casino has to offer.

To wrap things up, Keno resembles a Bingo game. Except you are in control of how many numbers you are betting on and it is much more efficient.
