European Blackjack

Blackjack - European Blackjack

European Blackjack’s set of rules are the most similar to the Classic Blackjack. The game is played with two standard decks and all face cards including the King, Queen and the Jack have a value of 10. Aces are valued 1 and 11 depending on the situation.

The player can double down any two-card hand and can split two cards if they are of the same value, same as with the Classic Blackjack. The player can split two cards twice with a total of three hands as long as there aren’t any aces.

What should you know about Blackjack?

How It Works

European Blackjack lets the players surrender if they wish to do so. In the case of surrender the player receives half of the wager back. However, if the dealer’s hand has an ace the player cannot surrender. Another difference that has to be noted is the event when the dealer has hit a soft 17. That’s a hand of an ace that is either 7 or 17. If the player beats the dealer with a Blackjack he/she receives a payout of odds 3:2. If the dealer beats the player with a Blackjack the player receives all additional bets back like doubles and pushes. The initial bet however is not returned to the player.
